Through the use of prompts, exercises, guided discussions, writing time and sharing our work with the group, we will : explore ourselves through the healing power of poetry • uncover blockages • discover tools that help us tap into inspiration and write more often • write exciting new poetry • learn how to hone and craft our poetry, getting us to the heart of ourselves and what we want to express • share our poetry, gaining confidence in owning our voice and reading/performing • walk away with new poems that we love, either fully formed, or well on the way
Critically acclaimed spoken word artist, published poet, and cabaret starlet Amy Bodossian is an eccentric and unforgettable performer who's been captivating audiences for over 10 years with her uniquely wacky, whimsical, heart wrenching and hilarious performances. She's appeared on ABC’s Spicks and Specks and Please Like Me, performed at major festivals across Australia, and headlined all of Melbourne’s top poetry events. She's been nominated for a Green Room Award and won the 2017 Melbourne Spoken Word Convenor's Choice Award.

This event requires a minimum number to run, if the class is cancelled by us or due to COVID you will receive a full refund. Due to COVID this year we have a very flexible cancellation policy and WILL refund if you cancel due to illness or flu like symptoms.
Please remember we are a not for profit and pay our artists fairly -any cancellation affects our ability to run future events. Generally, we only offer a 50% refund if you cancel after our nominated date (in info when booking tickets) and no refund if you cancel 48 hours before the event please help us in respecting this if you do need to request a refund for reasons that are not COVID related.
Classes may have to be merged to enable the activity to take place. We will be in touch if this is the case and will offer a full refund if the change does not suit you.
