About the event
PhoneHeadsis a performance work that explores our personal use of smart devices and digital media in public spaces. PhoneHeads draws on our shared experience of digital media and smart devices in our everyday life. It has grown out of our curiosity about the ways in which technology has changed our daily interactions, in our personal space, in our public spaces and within our own bodies.
We have become adept at creating personal spaces within very public environments and we use technology to do this. How has this helped us successfully adapt and how has it challenged our ability to communicate and connect? These are complex questions that PhoneHeads addresses through the sensory awareness of movement and sound, gesture and observation.
In this project groups working separately in different towns come together to present the performance. PhoneHeads HorsHam brings together members of CreateA’s performance ensemble (Bendigo) with participants in Horsham.
The performance will be part of the Art Is… Unexpected Festival 2021 and is being led locally by Jillian Pearce from Y Space.
