Art is... for you to create
Welcome to the land of the Paper Kiln. The Volcano Kiln.
Come and hand build with clay.
Day 1: Form clay into vessels which will then be dried ready to be bisque fired.
Create words to accompany your ceramic into the fire of the paper kiln.
Day 2: Kiln building day. Join the group to constructing, smoking and firing. The kiln will fire over 16 hours and well into the night. The start of the volcano
will kick in around sunset and evening and the full volcano should time perfectly with dark.
Day 3: Sunday morning we will have a cuppa, open the kiln and rummage through to find our work.

Refund Policy: To assist in the management of this workshop program a cancellation process is essential. Cancellation must be in writing/email to: artis@artis.wimmera.com.au Cancellations to 20th May refund 80% of fees paid; cancellations from 21st May -refund 50% of fees paid.
Nici Wright, a practicing visual artist for 25 years moves across mediums, genres and fields of practice. Exploring in her work science, design, humanity, ceramics, sculpture, installation, fine arts, fashion, live arts, music, teaching and facilitating and working both collaboratively and individually, nationally and internationally.
Lisa D’Onofrio is a literary activist, wordsmith, community arts facilitator and experienced bibliotherapist. She advocates to give prisoners a voice - recording stories to be sent to their children and currently runs book groups both in and outside of prisons. She started the Castlemaine Children’s Literature festival, and believes in the power of words to express, heal and transform.
